Help & FAQ

Answers to all the important questions about Artist League.

About Artist League

What is Artist League?

Artist League is a community-driven music discovery platform and a monthly competition for up-and-coming artists. Every month, artists upload a 90-second performance clip, the community discovers new songs and votes for their favorites – creating the All Stars and Rising Stars winner.

Who is Artist League for?

For everyone who loves music: artists who want to showcase their own songs, fans who want to discover and support new talent, and industry users like labels, bookers and A&Rs looking for new acts.

Which music genres are allowed?

All genres and languages are welcome. We focus on the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), but international artists can also take part as long as they accept the participation terms.

Is Artist League free?

Discovering, voting and saving favorites is completely free. Artists pay a one-time entry fee of €9.99 per competition. There is no subscription and no hidden costs.

What age do I need to be to take part?

Artist League is aimed at adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, vote, or take part in the competition. During registration or your first social login, the platform will ask for your date of birth.

Can I sign in with Google or Apple?

Yes. On the sign-in page you'll find the “Continue with Google” and “Continue with Apple” buttons. On your first login you'll be taken to the welcome page to set your display name, date of birth and, optionally, a profile picture.

For Artists

How do I take part in the competition?

1. Create an account and confirm your email address.  2. Complete your profile (display name, date of birth, optional profile picture).  3. Click “Participate” and pay the one-time fee of €9.99.  4. Upload your 90-second performance clip with your own song.  5. Tell us about your song (title, genre, language, city) and state whether it's unreleased. 6. Confirm that you own all rights to the song and performance. 7. We review your entry and publish it on Discover.

What do I need to upload?

A video of at most 90 seconds in which you perform your own song. You can use a backing track, but the song should be your own or licensed music. No covers, no third-party rights without proof.

How long does the review of my entry take?

We usually review entries within 24 hours. You can see the status anytime in your artist dashboard: “Under review”, “Live” or “Rejected”. If rejected, you'll see the reason and get a second chance to upload a corrected clip within the same month.

Can I submit more than one entry?

No. Only one entry is allowed per artist and competition. However, you can take part again each month with a new song.

What happens if my entry is rejected?

You get a second chance: you can upload a corrected or new clip for free within the same competition. You can see the rejection reason in your artist dashboard and your competition history. Only if the second submission is also rejected is the fee for that month considered used.

What is the artist dashboard?

Your personal dashboard shows your current entry status, votes, 7-day momentum, saves, followers and Rising Stars status. This lets you track your song's performance.

How do I edit my artist profile?

Go to “Profile” → “Account”. There you can adjust your display name, bio, profile picture and other public info.

What's the difference between Rising Stars and All Stars at submission?

Rising Stars are up-and-coming artists with fewer than 5,000 followers. All Stars have 5,000 or more followers. Your category is checked based on your social media profiles. Once you're verified as a Rising Star, you won't need to go through verification again for future entries. You can apply for All Star status anytime in your artist dashboard.

Voting & Discovering

How does voting work?

Every signed-in user with a confirmed email has exactly two votes per competition: one for an All Stars artist and one for a Rising Stars artist. Whether a vote counts toward All Stars or Rising Stars is determined automatically by the artist you vote for. Once your vote in a category is cast, you can't change it that month. After voting you'll receive a transparent vote receipt.

What's the difference between All Stars and Rising Stars?

All Stars ranks by total votes in the current competition. Rising Stars, on the other hand, measures momentum over the last 30 days – giving artists who start later a fair chance at visibility too.

Can I retract my vote?

No, a cast vote is final. So make sure before tapping the vote button that you really want to support that artist.

What does “Save” mean?

The bookmark button lets you save an entry to quickly find it again later. You can find your saved songs under “Saved” in the navigation.

How are the winners determined?

Winners are determined after the official end of the competition (countdown reaches 0) based on validated votes. All Stars wins the Champion package, the Rising Stars winner wins the Artist package. Industry Discovery is not a competition prize but an additional visibility opportunity.

How does Artist League ensure voting is fair?

We use several measures against manipulation: per-user rate limiting, server-side audit logs, cryptographic vote receipts and a public transparency page. Every vote is tied to an authenticated account and cannot be changed afterward. Find more details at /transparenz.

Payments & Security

What payment methods are available?

We use Stripe as our secure payment provider. Depending on your country, you can pay by credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or other local methods.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. We don't store credit card data. The entire payment runs through Stripe using PCI-compliant standards.

Will I receive an invoice?

Yes, after successful payment you'll receive an email confirmation from Stripe. You can also view your invoices anytime in the Stripe customer portal.

Are there refunds?

The entry fee is non-refundable once your entry has been submitted for review. For technical issues before uploading, please contact info@artistleague.de.

Why do I need to confirm my email address?

Email confirmation secures your account and is required to vote or submit entries. This ensures every vote and entry is tied to a real account. You can optionally enable two-factor authentication (2FA) in your account.
